Real Wedding Inspiration: Kiley May & Michael Marrah’s Winter Wedding at White Willow Meadows

Introduction

Kiley & Michael | White Willow Meadows | December, 2025

Kiley May and Michael Marrah’s December, 2025 wedding was a beautiful reminder that winter weddings in Ohio can be just as magical—if not more so—than any other season. Set at White Willow Meadows, their day combined heartfelt family moments, elegant seasonal design, and an unforgettable, high-energy celebration.

With fresh snowfall dusting the grounds, candlelit reception details, and meaningful personal touches throughout the day, this wedding perfectly captured the romance of a winter celebration in Columbus. We were honored to provide wedding catering for such a joyful and memorable occasion.

Getting Ready

Kiley, Michael, and their wedding parties spent the morning getting ready on-site at White Willow Meadows, allowing for a relaxed and seamless start to the day. Having everything in one location made it easy for everyone to stay present and enjoy each moment leading up to the ceremony.

Before walking down the aisle, Kiley shared incredibly sweet first look moments with her dad, mom, and grandmother—the photos alone created memories that will last a lifetime.

A Stunning Indoor Ceremony with Winter Views

The couple exchanged vows indoors, framed by White Willow Meadows’ breathtaking floor-to-ceiling windows and sparkling crystal chandeliers. Giving plenty of brightness of the outdoors, but keeping guests cozy inside.

While winter weddings in Ohio are often overlooked due to colder temperatures and unpredictable weather, Kiley and Michael’s day is proof that embracing the season can create something incredibly unique. The soft natural light reflecting off the snow paired with the elegance of the indoor space made for a truly picturesque ceremony.

The Couple’s Style & Jeweled Tone Color Palette

Kiley’s bridal look was the definition of timeless elegance. She wore a clean, crisp white satin gown with delicate shoulder straps and a statement bow detail on the back—simple, sophisticated, and absolutely stunning.

Her bridesmaids brought a vibrant and elevated twist to winter wedding style, each wearing a satin gown in a different jeweled tone. From sapphire blues to rich ruby reds and deep emerald greens, the mix-and-match palette created a look that felt polished, fun, and visually striking.

The groom and his groomsmen complemented the overall look perfectly, dressed in classic black tuxedos with bow ties. Their timeless, polished style added a refined contrast to the rich tones of the bridesmaids’ dresses, tying the entire wedding party together in an effortlessly elegant way.

Winter Wedding Photos in the Garden of Verona

Following the ceremony, the couple and wedding party stepped outside for photos in White Willow Meadows’ Garden of Verona. This tree-lined space, complete with white brick pillars and black iron gates, is inspired by the romance of Verona, Italy—home to the iconic love story of Romeo and Juliet.

The contrast of winter whites against the architectural details and rich tones of the wedding party created stunning photo opportunities that highlight just how beautiful winter weddings in Columbus can be.

Cocktail Hour on the Terrace

As the ceremony space was transitioned into the reception, guests enjoyed cocktail hour and mingled while the venue and catering team prepared the room for the evening celebration.

Menu included:

Reception Design: Warm, Romantic & Full of Candlelight

The reception space was completely transformed into a warm and inviting atmosphere, featuring a mix of long, pilgrim-style rectangular tables and round guest tables. The combination created the perfect setting for both conversation and connection, giving guests a comfortable and welcoming place to gather throughout the evening.

Tables were dressed with crisp white linens and white napkins, accented by gold chargers with preset salads for a polished, elegant touch. Candlelight played a big role in the overall ambiance, with a mix of pillar candles and gold candlesticks with taper candles adding warmth and a soft, romantic glow across the room.

Gold chalice vases filled with florals in rich jeweled tones brought beautiful pops of color to each table. The floral design incorporated whites, ruby reds, and soft blues, tying seamlessly into the bridesmaids’ dresses and the overall wedding palette. Together, the layered candlelight and gold accents created a cozy, intimate atmosphere that felt especially perfect for a winter wedding reception.

Dinner is Served

Kiley & Michael chose a buffet-style dinner service, giving guests a nice variety of items to enjoy.

Starters:

Preset Soft Rolls and Butter

Preset Green Leaf Salad - a real show-stopper on your guest tables!

The Dinner Menu:

Herb Roasted Chicken Breast

Pasta Marinara

paired with:

Garlic Herb Roasted Potatoes

Steamed Green Beans

Signature Drinks & Sweet Family Traditions

Kiley and Michael offered a full bar experience, complete with personalized signature drinks:

One of the most meaningful elements of the evening was the dessert table, lovingly prepared by the bride’s family. Guests enjoyed the “famous May Family hand-dipped chocolates,” including chocolate-covered Oreos, pretzels, and truffles, along with homemade lemon bars and a variety of cookies.

Incorporating family traditions like this adds such a personal and heartfelt layer to any wedding celebration.

Personal Details That Told Their Story

Every detail of Kiley and Michael’s wedding reflected their story as a couple.

Guests were greeted with unique, newspaper-style ceremony programs titled “The Wedding Post,” featuring a front-page headline: Best Day Ever. These programs shared highlights of their relationship and added a creative, personal touch to the ceremony.

At the reception, table numbers showcased photos from the couple’s travels together—from concerts to beach trips—giving guests a glimpse into their life and memories.

Polaroid cameras also encouraged guests to capture candid moments from the day, adding to the fun and creating instant keepsakes.

A Packed Dance Floor & Unforgettable Celebration

From the moment the dance floor opened, the energy never slowed down. Kiley and Michael surprised guests with a choreographed first dance before taking things to the next level—literally stepping behind the DJ booth to mix music for their guests.

The night continued with a lively dance party, complete with an impromptu limbo game that had everyone laughing and joining in. It was the kind of celebration where you could feel the joy in every corner of the room.

Throughout the entire day, one thing remained constant—huge smiles from the couple and their guests, making it clear just how special this celebration truly was.

A Winter Wedding to Remember at White Willow Meadows

Kiley and Michael’s wedding was the perfect example of how winter weddings in Ohio can be incredibly beautiful, meaningful, and full of life. From the snowy outdoor portraits to the candlelit reception and personal family touches, every element came together seamlessly.

They were an absolute joy to work with, and we were honored to be part of their wedding day at White Willow Meadows. Celebrations like this—full of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments—are what make Columbus weddings so special.

Congratulations, Kiley and Michael!
